Campus - Library

The college has a well established library which caters to the need of the undergraduate and post graduate students, research scholars and the faculty. The library functions on an open access system for the faculty members and the research scholars. But the students have only a limited access. The library remains open from morning till night on all working days.

The computerization of the library is nearing completion and shortly all standard services like acquisition, searching and lending will be computerized.

LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS

General

  • All personal belongings including personal text books, library borrowed books, printed materials and other note books will not be allowed inside the stack hall. These may be allowed inside the general reading room only.
  • Wearing of coats, jackets, sweaters, caps, hats are not allowed inside the stack hall. The Library staff reserve the right to inspect any person who appears suspicious.
  • Students without wearing uniform & smartcard will not be allowed.
  • The readers shall maintain silence within the library premises. Conversations, gossip, use of mobile phones are not to be allowed. No reader is allowed to sleep in the library. Users who violate these rules are liable for suspension from library privileges and may face disciplinary action.
  • Readers are requested not to write or mark or otherwise disfigure or damage books, furniture, etc. In case of doing any damage, the person responsible will be punished as per rules and will be required to replace the article damaged or pay its replacement cost as per library rules.
  • The Library staff has the right to request a user to leave the premise if the user violates the rules.
  • Eatables are not allowed inside the Library.

Conditions of Lending Books & Library Materials

  • Borrowers are to produce their smartcard when borrowing library materials.
  • Smartcards are not transferable. The use of the card is restricted to the user to whom the card is issued.
  • Members must satisfy themselves about the physical conditions of the books being issued. They shall be held responsible for any damage/mutilation noticed at the time of return.
  • Book Bank - A set of books will be issued to the students for full semester. If books are not returned within the date announced by the Library at the end of semester, a fine of Rs.10 /- per book per week shall be charged.
  • ST Book Bank - Two books will be issued to the students from Schedule Tribes for full semester. If books are not returned within the date announced by the Library at the end of semester, a fine of Rs.10 /- per book per week shall be charged.
  • Lending service - Books will also be issued to students for a period of 15 days. Books so lent shall be returned on due date. The same book can be reissued for another 15 days if it is not in demand. An overdue charge of Rs 1/- per day will be charged if a book is kept beyond the date.

    Lending privileges:

    • book for I & II semester B.E. students
    • books for higher semester B.E. and MCA/MBA Students

Question Bank

The Library provides 'Question Bank' of previous years question papers for reference and photocopying purpose to the students to prepare better for examination. Question bank will be issued for one week, after one week there will be a fine of Rs.1/- per day.

CD-Rom

The library provides text book and other CDs for students for one week. After one week there will be a fine of Rs.1/- per day.

Damage /Loss of Books

Where an item is lost or damaged, the borrower will be charged for the item. The charges include the following:
  • The member has to procure a new library edition copy of the same
  • Processing fee of Rs.50/- per book
  • Overdue fines (if any)

Borrowers are liable for overdue fines, calculated from the date due to the date when books are reported lost.

A sum of three times the estimated cost of an item will be charged for an out-of-print item reported lost or returned damaged.

Loss of Smartcard

In case of loss of smartcard the member must report immediately to the library. The replacement fee for smartcard is Rs.500/- and resubmit the smartcard application form with a photograph.

LIBRARY SERVICES

Lending Service :

Books will be issued to students for a period of 15 days. Books so lent shall be returned on due date.
Lending privileges:
  • 1 book for I & II semester B.E., MCA and MBA students
  • 2 books for higher semester B.E. students and MCA/MBA Students

Book Bank Services :

  • General Book Bank: A set of books will be issued to all the students for one full semester.
  • ST Book Bank: Two books will be issued to the students from Schedule Tribes for full semester.

Internet & E- Journal Service:

Browsing and downloading facility and E -journal access for students and staff members

CD-ROM Service:

1 CD/DVD will be issued for students and staff members

Question Paper Service :

The Library provides previous years question paper for reference and photocopying for all students.
